Lansman's Day Camp, Where Memories Are Made

Our Senior Staff

Maxxe Baker Schecter

Camp Director

Maxxe has always been a “camp person”. She began going to camp at Winston Day Camp at the age of 3 and was a camper there until the age of 14. After that, she attended a sleep-away camp where she rose through the ranks of camper, waitress, CIT, counselor and then lifeguard. With time, she was given the leadership role as girls’ side group leader and now has finally been given the opportunity she always dreamed of; being a Camp Director. She’s a fun-spirited person and always brings a smile to our campers and staff. She ensures a great summer for all our Lansman’s campers and is excited to bring many new ideas and improvements to the camp.

Maxxe holds 2 Master’s Degrees in Education. She is certified as both an Early Childhood and Childhood Special Education teacher for children ages’ birth through grade 6. She was married this past October and lives with her husband in Brooklyn, New York where she works for the New York City Department of Education as a second grade teacher. Although a Brooklyn girl, she is dedicated to spending her summers upstate in her White Lake residence. Camp will always hold a special place in her heart!

Nicole Crociata

Assistant Camp Director

Nicole has been a part of Lansman's Day Camp every summer for the past 16 years. She started coming to Lansman's as a camper when she was five years old, became a counselor at age 15 and has worked at the camp every summer since. She has always loved working and spending her summers with Lansman's campers and is so excited to further her positive impact on our campers as the Assistant Director. Nicole hopes to help make this summer the best one yet!

Nicole is currently a student at Adelphi University in Long Island majoring in Childhood Education, with a concentration in Special Education and Mathematics. Although Nicole grew up in Long Island, after spending the past 16 summer at Lansman's, our camp will always be her second home.

Ariella Haskell

Camp Administrator

Ariella has been a part of Lansman’s for over 30 years. She started off as a camper in our Nursery Program, grew up going to the camp, and worked as a counselor for several years when she was a teenager. The summer memories and friends she made at Lansman’s Day Camp are still a huge part of her life today. Ariella’s two young children now attend our camp. Ariella’s goal as administrator is to run an exciting camp program, ensuring that all campers have the best summer ever at camp!

Ariella holds a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Special Education and is certified in New York State as both an Early Childhood and Special Education Educator for age’s birth thru 2nd grade. She is currently working in Long Island as an Elementary School teacher. She has worked in the past at a not-for-profit organization as their Director for Special Events, organizing events and programs to raise funds for special causes.
